Gifts in kind
By donating specialist advice, services or equipment, companies can help us to save crucial resources and focus our resources on our work in the field.
Since October 2007, a team of experts from Barclays Global Investors IT department have been coming to Merlin HQ on Monday evenings, to advise us regarding the acquistition of a new knowledge management system. The new system will be used at Merlin for many years to come, and it is essential that it suits our needs for operating across at least 15 countries simultaneously. The help that we are getting from BGI is invaluable.
As well as making financial donations to Merlin, Control Risks have also given key staff members access to their risk database which is useful for monitoring security and potential threats in areas where Merlin is operational. Control Risks are now hosting Merlin in the USA, saving vital funds.
DHL has provided in-kind support totalling over £150,000 to Merlin, transporting crucial equipment to many of the countries in which we work such as Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Pakistan, Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Ethiopia.
Microsoft has donated thousands of pounds worth of software packages for Merlin’s information technology needs. |
