Merlin emergency appeal after a series of disasters in the Asia Pacific.

Two earthquakes have rocked the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. Over 1,000 people are confirmed dead and many more are missing, trapped in the rubble.

In the Philippines, Tropical Storm Ketsana has triggered the worst floods in decades which have already claimed at least 240 lives and 1.9 million have left their homes.
