Introduction:
When disaster strikes, our doctors and nurses work around the clock to save lives fast. Working together with tireless health workers on the ground, we take countries shattered by war, earthquake or floods from emergency to recovery – staying for as long as it takes.
All around the world, natural disasters and political unrest threaten people’s livelihoods and destroy their communities, with consequences that last long after the TV cameras have packed up and gone home.
From Haiti to Pakistan, thousands of Merlin health workers are spread throughout 16 countries. They are providing these countries – among the poorest on earth – with the vital medical care they need to survive, and the services they need to thrive.
Every minute, eighteen people are treated by a Merlin health worker.
